Over the 30 week school term, students can expect instruction within a small group environment on various aspects of piping and drumming. Beginning players will start on either the practice chanter or drum pad and will over time move on to the bagpipe or the snare, swing tenor or bass drum. Our classes include:

  • Improving technique and execution.
  • Music theory and its application to the pipes or drums. -
  • Learning different types of tunes. (This will include selecting tunes that are suited to the player and getting the most expression from those tunes).
  • Tuning, care and maintenance of your instrument.
  • Playing together in a group or band.
  • Various levels of Piobaireachd instruction are available.
