Welcome

Formed in 1967 in response to a need to start training players at a basic level for the Glengarry Pipe Band, the Glengarry School of Piping and Drumming has consistently provided high quality, convenient and comprehensive courses available to students of all ages for over 40 years.

As students gain proficiency they will have the option of joining the Glengarry Grade 4 band, which combines both competition and community events.

This year, as we have several times in the past, the school anticipates fielding a Grade 5 level training band within the community to teach our senior students the basics of performance and competition.

Band members please refer to events page for upcoming competitions & performances.

Grade 5 Band Almonte 2010

Whew...

August 21, 2010 the Glengarry Grade 5 band competed for the first time at the Almonte Highland Games and placed 3rd in a field of seven. Last year, in it's first full season of competition the band amassed a total of 2 firsts, 3 seconds (including a 2nd at the North American Championships), 2 thirds and a 4th, with many firsts in piping and drumming throughout. Congratulations to the band and big thank you to Pipe Major Ross Davison and Drum Sargeant Jim Bush for all their hard work. Good luck in the year ahead as the band advances to compete at the Grade 4 level in 2012.
